No evidence of pornographic video filming in Sandakan, police confirm

SANDAKAN - The police have confirmed that recent claims of pornographic videos being filmed in the district are false following the circulation of a viral video.

Sandakan police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said the viral video depicted pornographic actions filmed at an undisclosed location.

"The video appeared to be filmed on a beach.

"Upon investigation, the police concluded that no pornographic video had been filmed in Sandakan," he said.

In light of this, Fuad urged the public not to engage in speculation or further viral sharing of the video, while also emphasising the importance of not possessing or distributing pornographic material, which is illegal under the Penal Code Act and the Communications and Multimedia Act of 1998.

"If anyone has information regarding the location depicted in the video, we encourage them to report it to the police for appropriate action," he added.

The video, which lasted two minutes and 47 seconds and was circulated via WhatsApp, featured individuals allegedly engaging in pornographic acts on a beach.
