MELAKA - The Melaka state government has submitted applications for 330 projects under the Fourth Rolling Plan (RP4) of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) with a total cost of RM13.93 billion.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said out of the total, 10 priority projects were listed that are related to infrastructure, development, and upgrades of roads and facilities in the state.
"This includes, among other things, the upgrading and modernisation of the E-Land infrastructure, upgrading the infrastructure in the 22.1-acre industrial lot of the Melaka Halal Hub Phase 2 industrial area and the development of Paya Lebar eco-tourism in Alor Gajah Phase 2," he told a press conference after attending the half-term review of the 12th Malaysia Plan 2021-2025 with Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli here today.
He said the application was important for the state government to diversify its efforts to generate the economy to attract investors both domestic and foreign, especially in the Melaka Waterfront Economic Zone (M-WEZ).
He said in RP3 for 2023, Melaka had received a total of 204 projects with a total value of RM7.05 billion.
"Among the projects that benefitted are the Tun Hamzah road upgrade project to the Semabok Lebuh AMJ intersection at a cost of RM300 million, the Stage Bus Services Transformation (SBST) to the city of Melaka and the project to build a women's and children's block at Melaka Hospital with a capacity of 476 beds.
"Therefore we hope that the application for RP4 can be approved and distributed immediately," he said. -BERNAMA
