SHAH ALAM - Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang's mind has the potential to bring harm to the extent that it causes people to be hostile to each other due to his political approach of 'takfiri'
Takfiri is an arabic and Islamic term denoting a radical Muslim who excommunicates other Muslims, or accuses them of apostasy.
According to Amanah Vice President, Datuk Seri Mujahid Yusof Rawa said Hadi's thoughts have elements of extremism which is one of the characteristics of the takfiri ideology, which turns Muslims against Muslims.
Mujahid explained that one of the characteristics of Islamic political extremism is to label others with various labels and spew political fatwas that have no basis, argument or evidence.
"It is clear in the Pas President's writings that he described today's politics as dominated and influenced by non-Islamic influences that 'endanger the country'.
"Although the original context of his writings is to urge Muslims to vote to carry out their democratic duties, the reason why they need to vote reveals the true face of the Pas president, who is laden with extreme thoughts that has the potential to threaten national security.
"The political fatwa of the Pas President's mind is nothing but motivated to release 'political revenge' because of his unfulfilled desire for power," Mujahid wrote in a Facebook post today On Tuesday, Pas President, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang described the situation of Malaysians as ''dangerous' because the country is ruled by non-Muslims.
According to Abdul Hadi, the situation occurred when the Malay community was divided, until it was dominated by a government dominated by non-Muslims following many Muslims who did not vote.
Mujahid who is also a former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religion) urged Hadi who has written many books to also open his mind by reading other people's books so that he could understand the 'rahmah' and 'madani' political concepts.
"In order to purify the extreme Islamic political mind of the Pas president, I call for a return to the concept of Fiqh al Muwathanah (citizenship), Fiqh al Maqasid (purpose of Syariah) and Fiqh al Ta'ayush al Silmi (Living Together in Peace).
"I hope he gains clarity and there will be no more vague terms thrown around such as 'enemy of Islam', 'no faith', 'no morals' and 'dumb devils' just to gain political points without proper scientific arguments.
"The Unity Government today introduced Madani, explaining the concept and practical complexities that is needed to steer this nation forward. Madani is based on the general principles of Syariah, such as Maslahah Mutabarah (the benefit calculated by Islamic Syariah) and Maqasid Sharia ( Islamic law as the objectives or purposes behind the Islamic rulings)." he wrote.
