JOHOR BAHRU - Johor police confirms receiving two police reports on controversial comedian Jocelyn Chia for her insulting remarks and harsh jokes in her stand-up comedy performance.
Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said an application to Interpol was made on Tuesday to gain further information on the suspect to aid investigations.
"The investigations are carried out under Section 504/505 (c) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998," he said in a media statement, today.
He said the Johor police will proceed with the investigations and advised the public not to stir up the issue as it could disrupt public order.
Kamarul said he welcomed any information from the public on the incident.
