KUALA LUMPUR - Puteri Umno needs to be a 'game changer', not only for the party but also for young women in the country.

Its chief Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi said there are three important things the party's wing must implement to prepare for the upcoming state election.

"There are three important things the Puteri wing needs to do to prepare for the state election. First, organise programmes that can attract 18-year-old voters.

"Next, the central, state, and divisional leadership of Puteri need to collaborate to prepare members for digitalising work. This step is important in the digital transformation of work to align with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0).

"Thirdly, we will hold a retreat for Puteri Umno to ensure the determination of wahdatul fikr (unity in thoughts to achieve a common goal) and wahdatul amal (unity in action to work towards the goal) in our circle continues to bloom. So, we ask all Puteri to be prepared," she said in her closing speech at the Umno Puteri General Assembly at Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTCKL) today.

Moreover, she also repeatedly reminded Puteri members about the basis of unity for the sake of the political foundation today.

"Maintain this unity to keep the harmony. This unity reflects our maturity and determination to serve the people, not just political interests.

"This is the personality we need to instill in our hearts, as a principle that will never change. Quoting Tok Mat (Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan) yesterday, Umno will continue to be a party that fights for Islam and the Malays.

"This party is more moderate and appreciates the diversity of Malaysia, with its political and social units, which are diverse in religion, race, and ethnicity as well as culture," she said.

Earlier in her policy speech, Amal reminded Puteri members to accept the assimilation or political adjustment between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the sake of the people and the stability of the Unity Government.

Although they needed time to get used to this coalition, she hoped that grassroot members would accept it for the sake of the people's interest and the government's stability.
