SHAH ALAM – With a video circulating of a Singaporean comedian Jocelyn Chia ridiculing Malaysia and joking about Malaysia Airlines MH370's disappearance, the wife of a crew member once again tells the comedian off and to be better.
Intan Maizura Othaman, the wife of missing Mohd Hazrin Mohamed Hasnan had again come forward to criticise the comedian, this time revealing that up until today, her son still cries over the loss of his father.
"No matter how evil you are, you do not need to mention or make fun of it (the disappearance of MH370).
"My son is still crying today over his lost Papa, and there you are having the audacity to make fun of MH370.
"Do you know how many mothers are still crying until today? No, you do not know because you don’t have the empathy, you don’t have the heart.
"Or perhaps you don’t even have a family. Even if you have a family, I believe your family would be so ashamed of you and over your gig.
"I believe you don’t have to pull this kind of stupidity to get any kind of validation from people.
"Having a heart (and) living in a developing country is better compared to you, so-called first-world country and being a heinous human being,” she said.
Intan also urged that such stupid stunts to get validation from others should not be normalised as it was bad and tasteless.
"Be better, woman, be better,” she said before the video ended.
Yesterday, a video of Chia who began her standup routine by making jokes that insulted Malaysia’s economic development and the tragic disappearance of MH370 at Comedy Cellar in Manhattan, New York went viral online.
She also said Singapore became a first-world country, whereas Malaysia is still a developing country.
Malaysia, what are you now, still a developing country? F--k you, Malaysia." "Isn’t that the best breakup revenge,” she said.
The video incited anger among Malaysians, who also expressed that they were disappointed with the stand-upper.
