SHAH ALAM - The ongoing Umno General Assembly did not seem to bother Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hussein as he seemed to enjoy the freedom of not having additional political pursuits.
In a light hearted post to his instagram account Hishamuddin shared a picture of him and fellow MP’s having a laugh together.
The image showed Hishamuddin, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, MIC deputy president, Datuk Seri M Saravanan, Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin seemingly joking and taking a break from the ongoing Dewan Rakyat session.
Hishamuddin captioned the photo with ‘Parliamentarians from Bersatu, Pas, PKR, MCA, MIC, Umno outside the Dewan Rakyat, nothing serious just having a normal discussion’.
In what has been a colourful week for Hishamuddin, who has been suspended from the party for six years, he had lashed out at the party leadership for inviting sacked or suspended party members to the Umno General Assembly.
The invitation had irked him as he said Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and secretary-general Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, had only did so sarcastically.
Hishammuddin said the invite was ‘insulting and comical' and reflected the mentality of the current crop of Umno leaders.
On Saturday, Zahid said former or suspended members could attend the assembly if they ‘miss such gatherings’
He said these individuals could act as observers outside the hall during proceedings.
