SHAH ALAM - Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been urged to provide a detailed clarification regarding his plans to collaborate with Perikatan Nasional (PN), according to Pas vice president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.
He expressed uncertainty about the nature of the cooperation mentioned in Dr Mahathir's statement, emphasising the need for adherence to established protocols.
"Dr Mahathir should directly contact PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to communicate his intentions clearly.
"Currently we don't know what he meant by cooperation, does he want pension or to perform umrah? His statement is too general," he said when contacted by Sinar on Thursday.
Dr Mahathir had expressed his willingness to cooperate with PN chairman Muhyiddin, with the possibility of both former prime ministers sitting together at the same table to reconcile their three-year-long feud.
Mohd Amar pointed out the importance of a meeting among PN leaders once the details are clarified.
"An application must be made first, only then can we discuss as a group," he said.
On a separate matter, Mohd Amar also announced that Kelantan Pas would be ceding seats won by Umno in the previous state election to Bersatu.
He explained that this decision was a topic of discussion within the party, similar to the recent general election.
"Bersatu will be contesting seats won by Umno, Pas will be defending their seats. At the state level, there are some changes at the final stages," he said on Thursday.
