KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) is mulling the use of armbands to identify its employees and their respective duties.

APM chief commissioner Aminurrahim Mohamed said in this way it would be easier to know the roles and responsibilities of those working in the field, adding that the matter was being studied before being brought up to the Home Ministry.

"There are pros and cons to the move because in the APM we have associate members, permanent members and honorary members and there are 21 functions as enshrined in Act 221,” he told reporters after an award presentation ceremony at the International Islamic University, Malaysia (UIAM) here today.

At the ceremony 208 APM members and officers as well as members of the public received their excellent service certificates and awards in recognition of their contribution and dedication.
