SEREMBAN - Negeri Sembilan Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chairman Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith claims that several former Umno MPs in the state are likely to join the party (Bersatu).
He said to avoid false speculation, all of their names will be announced during the launching of the party's machinery soon.
"There are some who are former senior MPs including former prominent political figures but we could not announce their names yet because it is still too early.
"Honestly, many people had come to inquire and expressed their interest to join Perikatan Nasional (PN). But we have not made a decison yet. We will see how it goes and we are certainly open to accept anyone to fight together in PN," he told Sinar, yesterday.
Previously, it was reported that Pas vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar confirmed that several big names in politics, most of them from Umno, will be joining Pas, Bersatu and PN soon.
Meanwhile, Eddin who is also Negeri Sembilan PN chairman admitted that they were not as good as PN in other states but they were always working towards improving in areas where they lack in.
He said he was confident that PN would be able to challenge the opposing party and conquer the Negeri Sembilan State Assembly in the upcoming state election.
"It is based on how the community welcomed us today, especially the fence-sitter voters.
"I admit that in the 15th General Election (GE15), we have many weaknesses and I was unwell then too but we tried to overcome our weaknesses," he said.
He added that the party was also fine-tuning suitable candidates to be put forward and that they should have a likeable personality and can work effectively.
