PUTRAJAYA - Datuk Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli@Sukari has been appointed as secretary-general of the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK) effective today (May 18), announced Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.
Mad Zaidi, 53, was previously deputy secretary-general (Plantation and Commodities) at the KPK.
Mohd Zuki, in a statement today, said Mad Zaidi has extensive experience in various fields including strategic planning, management and core areas related to plantation and commodities.
"With his experience and credibility, I am confident that he will be able to carry out his responsibilities by continuing the ministry's mission of increasing Malaysia's global competitiveness through high-value and sustainable agricommodity products,” he said.
Mad Zaidi holds a Master's degree in Science from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a Master’s degree in Science from the University of London and has served the public service for 28 years, with his first position being an assistant director at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry - BERNAMA
