SHAH ALAM - Karate gold medallist Prem Kumar Selvam is currently busy managing his own business and being an athlete.
"I live a very busy life, my life is different compared to others, I'm a full-time athlete and also a business owner.
"I need to balance my work-life, attend trainings and manage my shop," he said in Sinar Daily's Sports Matters podcast episode entitled 'Welcoming The Champions' yesterday.
The 29- year-old who owns a barber shop said he is planning to open a new branch with his hard earned money.
Prem said apart from succeeding in sports, he aims to be a successful businessman in Malaysia.
"I'm waiting for the money after winning the medal as I'm planning to open a new branch," he said.
Prem recently secured Malaysia's second gold medal by beating Thailand's Chanpet Setthapong in his pet event - men's kumite Under-55kg event at the Sea Games in Cambodia.
It was redemption for Prem who missed out on gold in the Under-60kg event at the games last year.
When asked on what made him inspired to venture into the Karate, Prem said it was because of the intense training and his love for martial arts.
