PUTRAJAYA - The Health Ministry is expanding its appointment system through MySejahtera to include dental care services starting today.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan said the move would improve efficiency of dental services and improve access to dental clinics, moving away from the current 'walk-in' method.

"Through this initiative the public will be able to book dental care services and schedule their visits based on their preferred time," he said in a statement on Monday.

He said he Health Ministry will introduce an automatic reminder feature through the MySejahtera application, where the public will receive notifications on their appointment date.

"During the first appointment, users will undergo checks, consultation or receive dental treatment as required," he said, adding that a follow up check will be scheduled, if required.

"For emergency dental care or facial tissue or teeth injury, the public can go to any dental clinic nearby to receive emergency treatment without the need for an appointment," he added.

Previously, the government implemented an appointment system through the MySejahtera App at primary health facilities under the Health Ministry.

He said the digitisation of appointment services with dental clinics through MySejahtera has the potential to improve efficiency of the dental healthcare system and improve the overall experience for patients.
