SHAH ALAM - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extends a warm welcome to the renowned British rock band Coldplay as they prepare to entertain Malaysians with a live concert as part of their "Music of the Spheres World Tour" this November.

"Coldplay, selamat datang ke (welcome to) Malaysia. Let us work together to protect our environment and keep the world, terima kasih (thank you)," the Tambun MP in a brief video clip shared on his Twitter account with a caption; " See you November ! @coldplay."

However, a Pas leader has voiced concerns over the concert, alleging the government was promoting a culture of hedonism and deviance among Malaysians.

Nasruddin Hassan has urged the Unity Government to cancel the scheduled concert to be held at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil in November.

Nasruddin, the former Temerloh MP, accompanied his Facebook post with pictures of Coldplay's lead vocalist, Chris Martin, holding the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) flag during a concert in London.

"Does this mean that the government wants to promote hedonism and deviant culture in the country?

"I advise the government to cancel the concert. It brings no benefit to race, religion or country," he added.

This will be the British rock group's debut performance in Malaysia.
