KUALA LUMPUR - A total of five countries will be participating in the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2023 (Lima'23) aerobatic show which will take place from May 23 to 27.
Armed Force Chief General Tan Sri Affendi Buang said those taking part were the aerobatic teams from Russia, China, Indonesia, South Korea and United Arab Emirates (UAE).
"We expect the airshow segment at Lima'23 to be lively this year. With the five countries participating together, we will be able to see the spirit of competition among them.
"We will get an amazing performance and hopefully it wouldn’t rain,” he said when met at the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Hari Raya ceremony at Wisma Perwira, here, today.
He said the hot weather did not affect preparations primarily for the airshow team.
However, he said the space for visitors may be limited with the high temperature around the runway.
Affendi said more than 600 companies from 60 countries will take part in Lima'23 compared to 400 in the previous edition.
"I hope the weather remains good and the temperature would decrease, but the weather is outside our control.
"However, I’m sure many would want to see the airshow since it was last organised in 2019,” he said.
