AMPANG - Paving work on massively damaged roads in Selangor will be carried out simultaneously in two weeks time.
Selangor State Infrastructure and Agriculture Exco Ir Izham Hashim said that more than 20 contractors are involved in the project, which is expected to take two months.
He explained that the project, which involves an allocation of RM50 million, focuses on areas with severely damaged roads and road locations that are often disregarded.
"We will also give priority to roads proposed by local authorities (PBT), district councils, and the Public Works Department (JKR)," he said as reported by Selangor Kini on Sunday.
Izham said this at the Pandan Indah State Assembly Aidilfitri celebration at Kampung Pandan Dalam here on Saturday night.
He further added that the amount of paving work differs for each district depending on the report made by the agencies involved.
Earlier, the Selangor state government announced an allocation of RM145 million to improve the road network system in the state in the Budget 2023.
It includes mega-paving work involving roads under local authority administration (PBT).
Following that, Izham has asked local authorities in Selangor to identify and list critical roads in their respective administrative areas for that purpose.
