SHAH ALAM: Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) have expressed their appreciation to all workers ahead of 2023 Labour Day tomorrow.
MEF President Datuk Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman said employees are the real asset of any organisation.
"As employers we must provide a safe and healthy workplace. We must ensure our employees are well trained and skilled to carry out their work.
"We must ensure that their salary and benefits are in line with market rates and the risks, responsibility and accountability of the jobs," he said in a statement today.
He said it was crucial for employers to provide a career progression structure so that long term progression to help employers in attracting and retaining talents for their organisations.
"Employers must have the discipline and order to establish fair and responsible workplace practices," said Syed Hussain.
He further touched on workplace discrimination, stating there must be no discrimination at the workplace and all employees be treated fairly and equitably.
"Employees’ ability to perform must be recognised and be rewarded based on merit.”
"Employees are expected to follow the requirements of the organisation where they work," he said.
MEF also thanked trade unions for their cooperation displayed during the peak of Covid 19 pandemic where industrial peace and harmony was maintained.
Due to that, he said the right foundations could be laid for country's economy to recover faster.
