SHAH ALAM - MetMalaysia have indicated that the monsoon transition phase in Malaysia is expected to last until mid-May.
Its Director-General Muhammad Helmi Abdullah, however, said that the weather conditions are normal.
"The sun rays during a clear sky in the morning until early evening causes the earth's temperature to rise," he said to Sinar Daily.
Nevertheless, Helmi said thunderstorms or rainstorms in the late afternoon and less clouds at night have lowered the surface temperature of the earth.
Checks on MetMalaysia website shows the highest temparature recorded within 24 hours was 34 degrees celcius.
The Health Ministry reminds the public to be cautious of the hot weather during the festive season.
Its Director-General Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Abu Hassan urged the public to take preventive measures on health issues that may occur.
The public can get the latest weather updates on the MetMalaysia website and preventive measures to reduce the health effects of hot weather on the Health Ministry website.
