SHAH ALAM - Barisan Nasional (BN) has appointed Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani as the party's treasurer-general to replace Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
The appointment was decided in a BN Supreme Council meeting chaired by Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi yesterday.
BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the appointment was made under Clause 8.3(E) of the BN constitution.
"Additionally, Umno Youth chief Dr Muhammad Akmal Salleh and Umno Wanita chief Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi were also appointed as their respective wings representatives.
"Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail; Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and PBRS information chief Datuk Fredie Sua were also appointed in the BN Supreme Council to replace previous Umno and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) representatives," he said in a statement.
The appointment of state and division Coordinating Committeee were also announced in the meeting.
BN Supreme Council had also agreed to participate in the Unity Government National Convention held at Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre (WTCKL) on May 14.
