MELAKA - Housing, Local Government Drainage, Climate Change, and Disaster Management Melaka Senior Exco Datuk Rais Yasin who was allegedly involved in the sex bribery scandal should file a police report to clear his name as well as Umno's.
Former Melaka Umno Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Ali Mohamad said if it is true that he did not commit the alleged act, he should have the courage to come forward and make a police report.
Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh also needs to play a role and be responsible by advising Rais to make a police report and thus stop all slander against him, who is also the Melaka Umno Deputy Chairman.
"He (Ab Rauf) must take responsibility to resolve the issue so that the government under his leadership is clean.
"Ask him (Rais) to file a police report and clear the good name of the state government," he said in a statement here on Friday.
He further added that it worries him that the perception of young people towards the party will decline when the sex corruption controversy is linked to Umno leaders.
He explained that several representatives of the Umno branch of the division will also make a police report regarding the alleged sex bribery scandal involving the Tangga Batu Umno Division Chief.
"I expect 20 branches to file a police report," he added.
