KUALA NERUS - A total of 1,234 summons notices were issued by the Terengganu Road Transport Department (JPJ) during the recent Hari Raya Aidilfitri Operation (Op HRA) 2023 conducted since last April 18 until yesterday.
Terengganu JPJ director Zulkarnain Yasin said a similar operation was conducted last year during which 1,040 summons notices were issued.
He said most of the summons notices were issued for driving/riding with an expired Motor Vehicle License (LKM), involving 323 cases, expired driving licence (313 cases) and no insurance coverage (281 cases).
"Other offences include using tinted windscreens, using registration numbers out of specification, overtaking at double lines and over-loading,” he said, adding that a total of .5,606 vehicles were inspected during the eight-day operation.
Zulkarnain said a total of 20 vehicles were also sealed during the operation, including five motorcycles ridden by foreigners without a license.
