KUALA LUMPUR - In a first for the country, the Malaysia MADANI Open House with the Prime Minister in conjunction with Aidilfitri 2023 will be held in three states, namely Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
The Prime Minister’s Department (JPM), in a statement today, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would not be holding Aidilfitri open house at his official residence at Kompleks Seri Perdana in Putrajaya this year.
The statement said the Malaysia MADANI open house, organised by JPM through the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU) as the main coordinator, will be held in Kedah on April 29, Kelantan on May 12 and Terengganu on May 13.
"The programme will be implemented with the cooperation of the respective state government as host and assistance of a ministry appointed as the lead ministry.
"The prime minister will be attending the programme as the main guest to join people from all walks of life at the event. Menteri Besar or Chief Ministers will also be invited, apart from federal ministers,” JPM said.
It said the programme in Kedah has been accorded national status with a targeted attendance of 25,000 people while the other two states are expected to attract 15,000 visitors each.
The programme in Kedah will be held at Hotel Raia, Alor Setar from 10 am to 2 pm, with the Home Ministry as the lead ministry.
"In Kelantan, the programme will be held at the Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV compound from 7 pm to 10.30 pm, with the Natural Resource, Environment and Climate Change Ministry as the lead ministry.
"In Terengganu, it will be staged at Dewan Al-Muktafi Billah Shah, UNISZA from 7 pm to 10.30 pm, with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry as the lead ministry,” the statement said.
JPM also announced that the prime minister would attend three open house events organised by the state governments of Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan in conjunction with Aidilfitri - BERNAMA
