KUALA LUMPUR - Police have finally arrested a girl who had stolen her friend's ATM card and used the money to buy a branded smartphone and various other things before disappearing on March 23
Dang Wangi District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the police had previously received a report from the victim about a reduction in her bank account balance by RM8,200.
"The investigation found that the transaction began in stages since March 23rd
"The Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD) Commercial Crime Division conducted an investigation under Section 4(1) of the Computer Crimes Act 1997," he said in a statement.
He said the 21-year-old suspect was arrested at about 12.25am at a premise in Pandan Perdana near here.
"The police had also confiscated an ATM card belonging to the victim and a branded smartphone believed to have been bought using the victim's money," he said.
On Thursday, a girl claimed to be a victim of her own friend after her ATM card was stolen and her money used to buy a branded goods.
