ALOR SETAR - Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor claims there is a letter from the Finance Ministry sent to the Kedah Sultan’s office to remove him from the National Finance Council.
He further claimed it was not a fake story.
However, Sanusi said he has no intentions to reveal the letter.
"I know what they’ve done. They sent a letter to His Majesty Kedah Sultan’s office to lobby to change the National Finance Council line up. I know it because the letter is there,” he said in a press conference at Wisma Darul Aman on Wednesday.
Sanusi claimed there were planned efforts to remove him as Kedah Menteri Besar in the National Finance Council by naming Kedah government secretary (SUK) Datuk Norizan Khazali as a replacement.
Article 108 of the Federal Constitution stipulates the National Finance Council must be headed by the prime minister or any appointed minister while each state is represented by an individual approved by the Sultan or Yang di-Pertua.
Sanusi said: "They sent the letter that is why I spoke about it however, they said I was simply creating some drama. They acted as if I knew nothing.
"I am the Menteri Besar. A letter sent to Wisma Darul Aman would be known as I am friends with everyone. I know everything regarding the issue I’m talking about,” he said.
He said he is revealing the matter so that it would not be materialise.
"I don’t want it to happen. I’m not looking for a fight. If I reveal the letter it means that I want to confront and that is not my purpose. I simply want to prevent it from happening,” he said.
Sanusi reminded PH leaders to become effective leaders of the government and to stop thinking like an opposition.
