ARAU - The Arau Community College here will not be left behind in participating in the World #QuranHour to be held simultaneously around the world on April 13 (Ramadhan 22, 1444H).
Arau Community College assistant librarian Mohd Azman Ali said 50 participants from the college will read and appreciate the meaning of Surah Al-Insan that is the theme of this year’s World #QuranHour.
The Arau Community College #QuranHour programme director said several programmes would be held to liven up the activity such as the khat writing competition among students and the of stirring bubur lambuk by college club staff.
"We have joined the World #QuranHour programme years ago and call out to the public to come together and understand the meaning behind the holy Quran’s words this Thursday,” he said when contacted by Sinar on Monday.
Azman said the Ramadhan tazkirah will be given by lecturers from the college before the World #QuranHour programme is broadcasted worldwide on the day.
He said the World #QuranHour this year will be held at the Afifi Hall and they are prepared to open participation for the public if there is a demand from the local community to join next year.
"Previously we only opened it for the college community however, if there are demands from the local public and the community around the college we are prepared to consider it for 2024,” he said.
He also suggested for the organisers of the World #QuranHour programme, Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (Wuif) to further strengthen its efforts by uniting community colleges through this program of dignifying the Quran.
