SHAH ALAM: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is ready to present proofs regarding the statement he issued against the former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, which was alledgedly a slander.
Anwar, who is also PKR president, said Dr Mahathir was bringing too much negativity to the Malays.
He said even though Dr Mahathir's administration was excellent, there would still be quite a lot of damage if he talked about the issues revolving around the Malay community.
Anwar insisted that Dr Mahathir has always said the Malays are lazy and even ungrateful and that his negative comments are all not true.
He said this in response to Dr Mahathir's previous demand for Anwar to withdraw his statement within seven days or face legal action.
On March 18, Anwar was reported to have criticised the former leader's attitude in his president's policy speech, who had been complaining about the Malay's fate and claiming the group were oppressed under the Unity Government's administration.
Anwar did not specifically mention any name, but he did state '22 years and 22 months, which refers to Dr Mahathir's service length as prime minister.
