REMBAU - A man died in a four vehicle crash at kilometre 242.9 of the North-South Expressway (northbound), here, on Friday.
Rembau district police chief Deputy Superintendent Hazri Mohamad said the victim R Thiru Murugan, 26, from Taman Universiti, Skudai, Johor was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
He said the 7.24am incident involved four vehicles which were the Toyota Vios the victim was in, a Hyundai Tucson, a Honda City and a Perodua Myvi.
"Early investigations found the Toyota Vios was driving on the right lane from Johor heading to Selangor.
"The Hyundai Tucson driver from behind had lost control and crashed into the Toyota Vios and skidded into a Honda City on the same lane," he said in a statement on Friday.
He said the victim's father who was the driver came out of his vehicle and asked him to turn on the lights to warn other vehicles.
"The Perodua Myvi from the middle lane lost control and crashed into the victim's vehicle.
The victim suffered multiple injuries from the accident and was declared dead at the scene.
"The body was brought to the Rembau Hospital Forensic Department for an autopsy at 11am," he said.
The case was investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
