SHAH ALAM - A total of 124 additional flights at low fares are still being offered by AirAsia in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive season.
AirAsia Malaysia chief executive officer Riad Asmat said, all the affordable tickets will be on offer around the date of April 19 to May 1.
"This special additional flight at a fixed low fare offers a ticket price of only RM199 for Peninsular Malaysia to Sarawak and RM249 one way to Sabah," he told Sinar Harian on Friday.
According to Riad, the additional low-cost flights are available to several destinations such as Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri in Sarawak and Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau, Sabah.
"Apart from making reservations from Kuala Lumpur, guests can also book flights from Johor Bahru to Miri, Sibu, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu," he said.
Commenting on the number of tickets that have been sold, Riad said that as of March 31, about 70 per cent of the 11,400 seats for the fixed low-fare tickets had been purchased by customers.
According to him, the sale is for the dates between April 19 and 22.
"There are still plenty of seats available at low fares still unsold between April 19 and 22 for some areas.
"Among them are Kota Kinabalu to Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur to Bintulu, Johor Bahru to Miri, Sibu to Johor Bahru and others," he said.
He said that among the destinations that have reached up to 100 per cent bookings for the dates between April 19 and 22 are Kuala Lumpur to Tawau and Johor Bahru to Kuching.
"Additionally, flights from Johor Bahru to Sibu and also Kuala Lumpur to Kuching. It is hoped that more individuals will make reservations for this offer," he said.
