SHAH ALAM - A RM1 clothing sale at store in Sekysyen 7 here saw chaos with people rushing in to get their hands on the clothes for Raya.
Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said they received a complaint at 10.30am.
"It was understood that there was a sale where the first 100 customers could buy clothes at RM1 while the next 50 customers will get a free kurta.
"However, more than 500 people flooded the store to grab the cloths while pushing and shoving each other. It resulted in a commotion," he said in a statement today.
Iqbal said the shop management failed to control the number of customers and ended their operations at 11.45am.
"So far, no police report had been lodged and no unwanted incident had been reported," he said, urging people not to be easily influenced by promotions.
Businesses are also told to be wary of offering such promotions as it could result in public safety, he added.
