MELAKA - Melaka Umno chairman Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh keeps mum on speculations that a new chief minister will be appointed in the state.
Instead, he asked everyone to remain patient and calm for any news or announcement, adding that he was unable to comment on the growing rumours.
"I cannot comment on this speculation.
"I don't know when; don't ask me," he said when met by reporters after chairing the State Umno Liason Committee Meeting in Seri Negeri in Ayer Keroh today.
When asked if the rumours were discussed in the meeting, the Tanjung Bidara State Assemblyman said there was 'no need' to discuss the issue in the meeting.
"There is no need to discuss because there is nothing to do with it," he said.
Sinar Harian previously reported that rumours were rife that Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali would resign from his post by Friday.
It is also understood that Sulaiman's position will be filled by Ab Rauf, who is also the state's senior exco for investment, industrial cooperative development, and entrepreneurship.
