Negeri Sembilan PH chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun to probe claims of bribery by a political party

SEREMBAN - Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun says he will probe claims of a party in the coalition to have asked RM50,000 donation from Ramadan bazaar organisers.

The Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar said he was informed of the issue after it had gone viral on social media.

"I don’t have the details yet and we must investigate it first as anyone could create a letter and sign it (as what was done for the viral letter),” he said to reporters after chairing an exco meeting, here, today.

The alleged letter is said to be from Rembau sent to an NGO that was selected as the organiser of the Tapak Dataran Senawang Ramadhan bazaar.

The letter claimed that Amanah Paroi Assemblyman Datuk Mohamad Taufek Abd Ghani had suggested that the party could raise funds from selected Ramadan bazaar organisers.

The letter was claimed to be signed by Rembau Amanah chief Dr Norwani Ahmat however, when contacted by Sinar she declined to comment further.

Taufek said he was not involved with the bazaar including the interview and the selection process.

"The Seremban City Council (MBS) initially wanted to hand over all the bazaar organisers selection process to my service centre but I rejected to avoid any issues.

"If I wanted to make any profits, it would have been better for my service centre to manage everything. My rejection is a clear sign I have no interest in such things,” he said.

However, he said he is yet to read the letter's content thoroughly.

"I have yet to look through the letter thoroughly and I must investigate its legitimacy. I will also lodge a police report if there are elements of accusations,” he said.
