KUALA LUMPUR - Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says Amanah's Khalid Samad's statement on Menteri Besar seats in three state elections to be given to BN was his personal view.
The Deputy Prime Minister added Khalid, the former Shah Alam MP was not part of the unity government secretariat.
"That is Khalid's personal view. We will discuss it later in the meeting during the unity government's secretariat," he said when met after the dengue cabinet committee meeting at the Parliament building, today.
Previously, a news portal reported that Khalid claimed that Pakatan Harapan is expected to give space to BN to appoint menteri besar candidates if they win state elections in Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.
Meanwhile, Khalid admitted that his statement on the matter was only a personal view but had been translated through data and facts during the state elections and the 14th general election (GE14).
"It is true that it has not been discussed yet but based on statistics and data.
"It is true that I gave the idea for it to be discussed in more depth; indeed, there will be negotiations but they have not yet been done because PH and BN have only just collaborated," said Khalid.
Meanwhile, Khalid also described Zahid's statement as a sign of disagreement with the matter.
"But if Zahid says it hasn't been discussed, that means he doesn't agree, and that's fine. If it has not been discussed, it is open to other possibilities," he added.
