KUALA LUMPUR - Perikatan Nasional (PN) has finalised their candidates for the Menteri Besar-elect or 'poster boy' in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan ahead of the upcoming state elections.
PN elections director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said the party was confident about taking over the two states in addition to conquering Penang State Legislative Assembly seats.
"PN already has Menteri Besar candidates in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan who are our 'poster boy' candidates. We will highlight these candidates.
"We are ready to fight and defend our state (leadership) and to steal Pakatan Harapan states," he said in a press conference at Ramadan Iftar in conjunction with #Aid4Turkiye&Syria Fund Campaign organised by PasRelief here today.
Also present were Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, Pas Deputy President Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and Pas Vice President Datuk Idris Ahmad.
Commenting further, the PasRelief chairman said in order to face the state election, PN has almost finished deciding the seats allocation in the six states.
"We have also launched the state election machinery which is a 100 day efforts, in addition to establishing a state election machinery committee at the DUN, Parliament and state levels," he said.
He said PN had also appointed a mas'ul or coordinator from Pas and Bersatu leaders in the six states holding the elections.
He said the appointed coordinators are Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan in Negeri Sembilan, Idris (Penang) and Tuan Ibrahim and Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin for Selangor.
"With this approach, when there is an issue, the person in charge will hold a discussion to resolve it quickly and efficiently," he said.
He said the party expects the state election to be held in the fourth week of July or the first week of August.
