JELEBU - An elderly woman broke her hip bone after a multi-purpose vehicle (MVP) crashed into her house in an accident at Kilometer 40 of Jalan Peradong heading towards Pekan Kuala Klawang, here on Friday afternoon.
Jelebu police chief Deputy Superintendent Maslan Udin said the 82-year-old victim was still unconcious and currently receiving treatment at Jelebu Hospital.
"The accident occured at 12.58pm involved a teacher who was driving the MPV from Serting Ulu to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Dato' Undang Syed Ali Al-Jufri, Jelebu.
"Preliminary investigations found that while the vehicle was travelling through Jalan KM40 Kampung Peradong, it crashed into the right shoulder of the road and hit a house there," he said in a statement today.
As a result of the crash, the victim who was in the house at that time, suffered serious injuries in her hip and was unconscious. She was taken to Jelebu Hospital to receive treatment.
"The MPV driver had bruises on their chest and left thigh. The accident is believed to have caused by the MPV driver who had lost control while driving.
"However, the police is still investigating the real cause of the accident. The case will be investigated according to Section 43 (1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987," he said.
