SHAH ALAM - Umno vice president candidate Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad said he preferred a direct face-to-face approach method in voicing out views.
Hasni said he did not deny that the approach of voicing out comments and views through social media has its benefits, however he was much more confident in the traditional method of discussing and voicing out issues via the face to face approach with other leaders.
"There’s no point in being great on social media but timid when it comes t o negotiating issues face to face just to not offend others and to safeguard positions.
"There is no doubt that social media is a good medium to highlight our ideas, views and thoughts.
"However, the face-to-face approach to negotiate and discuss in my opinion is the best method,” he said.
Hasni said this during the Sinar Live programme titled ‘Umno: The Election Promising Recovery’ hosted by Hazwan Mokhtar through Sinar Harian’s digital platforms.
The former Johor Umno chairman said a leader is described as a chef that must prepare the recipe for the leadership itself to fulfil the tastes of the public.
"I hope as a chef my ‘dish’ could be given to party members and voters as something that could fulfil their appetite.
"Especially if I prepare it traditionally, that way I can guarantee to return back the confidence of voters towards the grassroot leadership of the party,” he said.
He said as a leader he would not be able to avoid making tough decisions.
"It is common for people to take the easy approach these days.
"The hard choices require courage,” he explained.
