KAJANG - The 'Mentega Terbang' movie director and script writer has revealed that he has been receiving death threats and has had his cars splashed with paint and an acidic substance on Thursday.
He shared a picture of his red Proton Saga and a white Toyota Vios which were ruined with paint and an acidic substance on Twitter.
Several notes with death threats were als placed on the cars which were reportedly related to the movie.
The director is believed to have made a police report in Kajang and Ampang Jaya.
Sinar has been made to understand that a statement will be released by the police soon regarding the incident.
Communication and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil took to Twitter to criticised those who took the law into their own hands.
"I am against these actions of threatening people outside of the law.
"Malaysians must obey the law and not take actions that can destroy property or threaten lives,” he said.
Excerpts of the infamous ' Mertega Terbang' movie, which is available for free viewing on digital streaming platforms, has been objected to by Muslims in the country for allegedly containing elements of religious pluralism that can affect their faith.
