KUALA LUMPUR - It is a waste of money to send weed to me and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli.
"We don't take weed," he said in a jokingly when asked to comment about a package containing cannabis which was sent to him and the Prime Minister.
"I did not receive it (the package) someone sent the weed and the police took it, that's all. The package was sent to my office and I did not open it despite it being addressed to me and the Prime Minister.
"None of us take weed so it would be a waste and surely (the package) would be sent to the police," he said during a press conference at Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday.
The Pandan MP was asked to comment regarding media reports of a package containing weed which was addressed to him and Anwar.
It was reported that Sepang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof on Mondayhad received a report made by the Putrajaya Government Administration Centre Security Division of a package addressed to two politicians.
Kamarul said the package was suspected of containing illegal goods as another government office in Putrajaya had also received a package containing weed last week.
