KUALA LUMPUR - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has ordered party machinery to prepare for the upcoming state election.
He said the order included getting ready to 'fight' with lack of funds and working hard to approach voters.
"I have ordered them to work hard even when our party is being suppressed right now. We don't have any funds, so we have to try to find funds ourselves in appropriate ways if there is a need.
"I want to remind everyone that this election is important and we expect it to be an opportunity for the people to show their hatred and anger towards the current government that is incapable of managing the people's affairs.
"We do as much as we can, but more importantly, the machinery has to stay close with the voters because they will be the ones to decide," he said in a press conference after Bersatu 5th Annual General Assembly 2022 held at Menara PGRM, here, today.
Earlier, in his closing speech, Muhyiddin said that although the party has no funds now, the spirit that they have can still bring them victory.
He is also confident that the people will rise against the government and 'teach' them a lesson in the next state election.
"There is an opportunity where there is a problem. Earlier, during the debate session, a lot of people mentioned the state election. Saying how we are confident we can win. How can we win? Bersatu has no money.
"When there is an election, there should be no department chiefs who meet me and say that there is no money. If you have no money, I don't have money at all. Don't ask me why we don't have money.
"Whose fault is it? Who is the evil one? Don't just say bad things; prove it. Even if we don't have a single sen, the people will rise and oppose them and we can win the state election," he said.
