KUALA LUMPUR - Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad now leads the Umno Wanita chief seat.
The results as of 6pm shows the Parit Sulong MP leading against Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
Umno Wanita deputy chief incumbent Norliza Abdul Rahim is leading the number two position of the wing.
Umno Puteri deputy chief Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi now is now leading against five others for the Umno Puteri chief post.
Meanwhile, Umno Puteri exco Siti Sokhleha Nordin is leading against three others for the Umno Puteri deputy chief post.
The 2023/2026 session Umno election began today with the voting process nationwide.
Delegates will vote to choose the best candidate to uplift Umno Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings today.
For the Umno Wanita wing two candidates are contesting the permanent chairman position, deputy permanent chairman (4), Umno Wanita chief (2), Umno Wanita deputy chief (2) and 61 for the exco posts.
The highlights of the contest are between incumbent Noraini and Shahrizat who had decided to contest after stepping down in 2018.
For the Umno Puteri seat two candidate offered to contest the permanent chairman position, two for the deputy permanent chairman, six for the chief, three for deputy chief and 42 candidates for the exco posts.
