Muhyiddin makes time to attend Armada Annual General Assembly

KUALA LUMPUR - Despite facing charges in court, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin still made time to attend the Armada Annual General Assembly here today.

Muhyiddin arrived at about 2.30pm accompanied by some of the party's top leaders.

The Pagoh member of parliament (MP) attended Armada's closed-door debate session.

On Friday, Muhyiddin was slapped with six charges of corruption totaling RM232.5 million and money laundering amounting to RM195 million at the Sessions court.

He was charged as an official of a public body, namely the Prime Minister and Bersatu president, with having used his position to accept bribery amounting to RM232.5 million from an individual named Azman Yusoff, 51 and three companies, Bukhary Equity Sdn Bhd, Nepturis Sdn Bhd and Mamfor Sdn Bhd, for the party's allies, between March 1, 2020, and August 20, 2021.

The former Prime Minister was the third Bersatu leader charged in court for criminal charges after the party's former information chief, Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan, and Segambut Bersatu division deputy chief, Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad.

On Feb 21, Saiful was charged in court for asking and receiving bribes amounting to RM6.9 million involving the Jana Wibawa project worth RM232 million last year. However, he has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

On the same day, Adam Radlan was charged with two counts of bribery in the amount of RM500,000 involving the Jana Wibawa project.
