SHAH ALAM - Pas Selangor has described the Perikatan Nasional (PN) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's prosecution as an attempt to curb the opposition's voice and damage the party's reputation before the upcoming state elections.
Its secretary Roslan Shahir Mohd Shahir said Selangor Pas supports the law principles and is confident that the authorities have the right to investigate according to the laws.
However, he said, the authority must be used in good faith and only in collateral purposes instead of selective usage based on the political agenda and interests.
"This prosecution was seen carried out hastily," he said in a statement today.
Selangor Pas expressed their solidarity with Muhyiddin and their committment to support a mature, prosperous political culture and to continue to defend the opperessed groups regardless of race and religion.
