Follow laws, Fahmi reminds film producers

SHAH ALAM - The film industry is reminded to comply with existing legal provisions in their production for online or the cinemas.

Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said film producers need to get a permit from the National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia (Finas).

"The government today is very strict on the issue of compliance with the law.

"I remind everyone including Indie filmmakers, there are laws that apply to any work produced.

"We have to respect the law," he said.

He said this at a townhall session broadcast live on all Sinar digital platforms tonight.
