KUALA TERENGGANU - Terengganu Umno chief Datuk Seri Ahmad Said is set to run for an Umno Supreme Counci post in the coming party elections.
Ahmad, a former Terengganu Menteri Besar, announced his candidancy on his official Facebook page yesterday.
"I am asking for support from the leadership, Umno divisional representatives and Umno members at all levels for me to serve and devote myself to Umno for the sake of religion, the Malays and the beloved country," he said.
In addition to the Supreme Council position, Ahmad who is also Kijal state assemblyman will also be defending his position as Kemaman Umno division chief in the party polls.
The race for the Umno Elections for the 2023-2026 term, has begun after the registration for candidature officially closed at 5pm on Sunday.
