MARANG - Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang)'s request to join Perikatan Nasional (PN) will be examined and discussed in the party's Supreme Council meeting soon.
Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said participation of any party in the coalition needs to be discussed collectively so the best decision can be made.
"I have received a letter from Pejuang about the party's request to join PN, we will discuss the matter in the meeting.
"We have yet to receive (the date of the meeting) from the party's secretary," he told the media after attending the As-Sabiqun Day closing ceremony at Dewan Tok Guru, Rusila here today.
Abdul Hadi who is also PN deputy chairman and Marang MP described the application as a positive development for PN.
"It means PN is welcomed by all parties," he said.
Pejuang previously informed that they sent an application letter to join PN as a component party.
Pejuang president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said the the official letter was sent to PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and copies of the letter were also sent to Abdul Hadi and Gerakan president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai.
He said the decision for this application was agreed upon by the Pejuang executive council two days ago after considering and evaluating all the options available for coalition and political cooperation.
