An affair caused a Myvi's roof to explode

SHAH ALAM - A scandalous relationship with another woman is believed to have caused the explosion incident which left a car with a hole in its roof in front of a house near Padang Jawa, last Feb 17.

Selangor Police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said preliminary investigations found that the incident was believed to have occured due to personal issues.

"The motive is suspected to be because the victim had an affair.

"The case is still under investigation and the police is in the process of gathering enough evidence for an arrest," he told reporters in a press conference at the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters today.

In an incident at about 3.50am, a yellow Perodua Myvi car parked in front of a house had a hole in its roof, believed to be from an explosion as the roof's metal edges were bent.

The explosive material is a low-yield explosive type (sulphur powder) and the technique used to cause the explosion was through ignition technique as the police found a fuse that was believed to be used to start the explosion.

There were no casualties in the incident.

The case is classified according to Section 436 of the Penal Code.
