KUALA LUMPUR - The Armed Forces Superannuation Fund (LTAT) supports the government's initiative in broadening the army Veteran Second Career Programme which will involve a total of 5,000 veterans, all of whom will be retiring this year.
LTAT executive chief Datuk Nazim Rahman said the LTAT company group as well as strategic partners will work together in providing comprehensive skills training to increase employment opportunities and income generation while providing the social protection needed by veterans.
"At LTAT the welfare and social protection of our contributors, future and current veterans is the foundation of our organisational mandate.
"We are honored to be given the opportunity to realise the government's efforts in the best interests of our contributors who are the main stakeholders of LTAT," he said in a statement on Friday.
Earlier Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim retabled the Budget 2023 in parliament with an allocation of RM388.1 billion
Anwar said of the total, RM289.1 billion would be used for operating expenses and RM99 billion for development expenses including RM2 billion in contingency reserves.
Nazim said he saw the Budget 2023 initiative as significant for economic growth as it could overcome the issue of food security in line with the country's national agenda as well as increasing employment opportunities.
"Holistically this will increase the country's competitiveness towards making Malaysia a developed country.
"LTAT and other company groups will remain steadfast in carrying out our duties and delivering additional values to the stakeholders," he said.
LTAT would continue with its Transformation Plan to further strengthen its role as a high-prestige and world-class retirement fund.
