SHAH ALAM - Long-standing issues surrounding contract doctors, improvement of public health facilities, shortage of doctors in the emergency department and improvement of the career path towards medical officers will be addressed by the Health Ministry, said its Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa today.
She said the Ministry recorded the views and feedback given during a townhall session held today in order to address the issues.
"Around 350 doctors comprising government medical officers attended the townhall session held in the Health Ministry at Putrajaya.
"The townhall session organised with the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) aimed to gain views, feedback and suggestions from medical members on various issues,” she said.
Dr Zaliha thanked the medical staff who attended and gave their commitment.
The Health Ministry clarified no doctor will be subjected to disciplinary action for attending the session.
