SHAH ALAM: The 54th Jelajah Malaysia has been shortened from five to three stages, the organisers announced today.
In a statement issued by Jelajah Malaysia chief executive officer Datuk Risma Yurini Rizrul today, the organisers informed that the race initially scheduled for Feb 26-March 2 will now begin on Feb 28 and end on March 2.
The UCI Asia Tour 2.2 status race's route has also been redesignated, with Stage One on Feb 28 covering 154.3 kilometres from Shah Alam to Teluk Intan, Stage Two the next day covering 139.7 kilometres from Bagan Datok to Tanah Rata in Cameron Highlands and the final day on March 2 covering 123.2 kilometres from Tapah to Meru Raya.
The Jelajah Malaysia this time will see 24 competing teams, with 16 UCI Continental teams running alongside the Malaysian and Saudi Arabian national teams, the Nice club from Switzerland and five local teams.
