SHAH ALAM - Muslims are advised not to participate in any activities that may cause misunderstandings and disharmony among Malaysians.

In a statement on Sunday, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar said any gatherings using Islamic religious symbols is inappropriate and can give a bad image to the religion and country.

"It is better for the organisers to highlight Islamic values, which are peaceful, promote unity and well-being." "All parties are responsible for calling for peace and harmony in society, and any action that may invite public unrest must be avoided at all costs," he added.

He also said the ministry is of the view that this matter should be handed over to the authorities to investigate and take action if the organisers were to be found guilty of violating national security regulations.

Earlier today, a video showing Pas members participating in a match using swords, spears, and shields had been making the rounds on TikTok.

It is understood that the march took place on Friday in Setiu, Terengganu, at the beginning of the two-day Pas Youth gathering known as Himpunan Pemuda Islam Terengganu (Himpit).
