IPOH - An accident involving three vehicles at the Menora Tunnel at kilometer 266.5 of the North-South Highway today caused North-bound traffic congestion for almost eight kilometers.
The accident that happened around 5.11pm involved a lorry, a trailer and Perodua Myvi car.
Netizens had posted on social media, informing that the Myvi car was stuck between the road divider and the trailer.
Meru Raya Fire and Rescue Station chief Muhammad Halil said there were no casualties reported from the accident.
"The lorry driver was stuck and sustained injuries while other victims had survived.
"The trapped victim was successfully taken out before he was taken to the hospital for further treatment," he said in a statement here today.
Meanwhile, on Twitter @Plustrafik updated at 6.22pm that the left lane of the route was still closed for rescue work by the firefighters. Road users were advised to use alternative routes to avoid further congestion.
